June 8-July 24, 2026
IBA offers a seven-week summer intensive program designed for students age 9 and up who dance at an intermediate level and up. The program focuses on intensive classical training and is designed to challenge and encourage the student. Classes in ballet technique, pointe, partnering, variations, jazz, modern, stretch and conditioning are combined with seminars focusing on proper nutrition and injury prevention. The goal is to provide opportunities for a dancer to grow both technically and artistically. Upon acceptance, students may select to attend anywhere from 1 week up to 7 weeks of the program.
Audition for the 2026 Summer Intensive:
- In person: The IBA Summer Intensive audition is in-person on 2/21. Students can also call the office at 919-303-7200 or write us at office@ibacary.com to schedule an in-person audition at a different time. Limited slots available.

Video Audition Requirements
Please include the following in your video:
Barre work
Pliés
Tendus
Fondus
Développés
Grand battements
Center work
Adagio
Turns
Petit allegro
Grand allegro
Girls already en pointe should include center work en pointe.
Total video length should be 7–10 minutes.
Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and email the link to office@ibacary.com.
Students without access to a studio may film from home; classwork may be modified as needed to fit the space safely.
Audition Fee: $35 (non-refundable).
Pricing
Students attend classes Monday – Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Students may choose between a 2-week session, a 4-week session or attend the entire 7 week session. Weekly sessions are also available.
Tuition varies depending on date deposit is received.
If 50% deposit is received on or by March 15, 2026 the following tuition rates apply.

Upon acceptance into IBA’s summer intensive program, a non-refundable 50% deposit is due within 2 weeks of acceptance to secure a student’s place. Tuition is based upon the date the deposit is received. Class sizes are LIMITED and acceptance into the program does not secure a spot. The remainder of the summer tuition is due by May 10th, 2026. All summer tuition is non-refundable.
Summer Faculty
Each summer, IBA expands its award-winning faculty roster by welcoming distinguished national and international guest teachers whose expertise enriches every level of our program.
Summer 2025 Guest Faculty*: Olivier Pardina, Anaïs Chalendard, Caridad Martínez, Nadia Pavlenko, and Kathryn Mowat Murphy.
*Faculty subject to change.
Levels
All intermediate and advanced students will be notified of their initial placement once accepted into the program. Final placement is determined during the first week of each session.
Housing
IBA offers limited housing options for out-of-town students. In addition to our on-site residence, we may also place students with a vetted host family.
Please note that housing costs will vary depending on the number of students staying in the residence during the program period.
Housing is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage families to inquire early.
