Intermediate & Advanced

International Ballet Academy offers a complete curriculum to dancers and is designed to provide an increasing variety of classes.  Within each division, every class is tailored upon a syllabus that progresses with the dancer’s development.

Intermediate Division

The Intermediate Division is designed for children between the ages of 10-15 who have already progressed through the syllabus set forth in our Elementary Division. In this division, students are expected to take class between three to four times per week and the students are exposed to higher levels of ballet technique as described in IBA’s syllabus. The Intermediate Division consists of Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Intermediate 3. Levels may be sub divided  in order to give the teachers the ability to work more closely with the students.  Teachers will designate which classes involve pointe work. There is a limit of 18 students per class.

Advanced Division

The Pre-Professional Advanced program concentrates on perfecting technique and developing artistry through intensive instruction. This dance instruction includes all aspects of classical ballet technique including Partnering, Men’s Class, Jumps & Turns class and Variations.  Placement in this division is based on teachers’ evaluation. This Division consists of Advanced 1, Advanced 2 and  Advanced 3. Placement is based on teacher evaluations. These levels may be further subdivided in order to allow the teachers to work more closely with the students.   Partnering and Variations classes are optional but highly recommended. Please note that in order to attend Partnering and/or Variations classes, students must attend all the required technique classes for their levels.  There is a limit of 22 students per class.
