Fiona Fairrie

With decades of extraordinary dedication to the art of ballet, Fiona brings a profound lineage and legacy of training, having studied at The Royal Ballet School under Dame Ninette de Valois and performed as a soloist with Stuttgart Ballet under the direction of John Cranko.

Ms. Fairrie has taught for renowned institutions across the U.S., including American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, Houston Ballet, and the University of South Florida. She has coached medal-winning dancers at prestigious competitions such as the USA IBC and Youth America Grand Prix, earning the title of Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Choreographer in multiple seasons.

In her own words:
“My passion has always been about developing promising young dancers in the best traditions of the English, French, Danish, and Cecchetti styles. I strive to help my students not just become good dancers, but learn how to operate in the world of dance — how to audition, communicate with respect and appreciation, develop work ethic, and ultimately thrive in the ballet profession.”

Fiona has also directed and founded leading schools, including The Georgia Ballet School and her own conservatory in Kennesaw, GA, where she guided pre-professional dancers toward professional careers. Today, she continues to mentor young artists with the same passion and precision that have defined her career for over 50 years.

We are incredibly fortunate to have her share her wisdom, artistry, and mentorship with the next generation of dancers at IBA.
