IBA offers several options for dancers wanting to continue their dance study over the summer months. For students ages 9 and up who dance at an intermediate or advanced level, IBA offers an 8 week Summer Intensive Program. This program which runs daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm focuses on intensive classical training and is designed to challenge and encourage the student. Classes in technique, pointe, partnering, variations, jazz, modern, pilates, yoga combined with seminars focusing on proper nutrition and injury prevention will provide opportunities for a dancer to grow both technically and artistically. In addition to the Summer Intensive Program, IBA offers Young Dancer Workshops and Evening Classes. Detailed information about these programs can be found below.
International Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program
June 12-August 4, 2017
IBA offers the highest caliber of intensive classical training designed to challenge and encourage the students. Schedules will include classes in technique, pointe, variations, partnering, character, jazz, modern, pilates, yoga. The Summer Intensive Program will also offer seminars focusing on nutrition and injury prevention. Guest faculty includes Haydée Gutierrez, Olivier Munoz, Ana Lobe, and Olivier Pardina. Our summer program will culminate in a collaborative performance with the Philharmonic Association*. This performance will take place at the Cary Arts Center.
Auditions: Auditions for IBA’s Summer Program will take place at International Ballet Academy on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Auditions Times: 10:00-11:30 (ages 9-12); 11:30-1:00 (ages 13 and up)
Audition Fee: $20 (non-refundable)
If you are not able to attend the audition on March 4, 2017 please call at IBA at 919-303-7200 in order to schedule an audition during our weekly classes . You may also submit an audition via video.
Video Audition Requirements: Barre work including tendu, fondu, développé, grand battement. Center work including adagio, turns, petite allegro, grand allegro. Girls who are already on pointe should do center work on pointe. Your video should not be longer than 7-10 minutes. You may upload your video via youtube or email your video to email@example.com.
International Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program Levels and Tuition
Levels: Intermediate I, Intermediate II, and Advanced. Students will be notified of their initial placement once accepted into the program. Final placement will be determined during the first week of each session.
Sessions and Tuition:
Students will attend classes Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Students may choose between a 2 week session, a 4 week session, or two 4 week sessions.
A. Session A (2 weeks): June 12th –June 23rd: $650
B. Session B (4 weeks): June 12th –July 7th $1250* (please note we will be closed on July 4th)
C. Session C (4 weeks): July 10th –August 4th: $1250*
*If a student signs up for both Session B and C, the tuition will be $2,250. Upon acceptance into IBA’s Summer Program, a non-refundable 50% deposit is due by April 1, 2017 . The remainder of the summer tuition is due by May 14, 2017. All summer tuition is non-refundable.
Weekly rate: the tuition rate for a student registering for only one week of a session is $330/week. The $330/week also applies to students registering for non-consecutive weeks.
Performances: There will be an in studio demonstration performance following Session B. Students who enroll in in Session C will have the opportunity to perform with the Philharmonic Association at the Cary Arts Center. Please note that students who do not participate in the entire 4 week sessions may not be able to perform.

IBA’s Summer Evening Schedule
Our summer evening schedule provides classes in pre-ballet, technique, pointe, jazz and contemporary. Our summer evening schedule will run from June 12th to August 4, 2017 and classes will be offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

- Jazz 2 (ages 8-10): 4:30-5:30
- Pre-Ballet/Tap (ages 3-5): 5:30-6:30

Summer Evening Tuition: There is no registration fee for the summer session. As many of
you might be traveling over the summer, you are welcome to make up missed classes at anytime during the 8 week session. Tuition is due upon registration and is non-refundable.
